Gorillaz 每张专辑都会有不同的乐手出现，从第一张的 Miho Hatori， Del the Funkee Homosapien, Dan the Automator 到后来的 Tina Weymouth 到上一张的 Snoop Dog。但其实乐团的卡通成员从 1998 年大致就没有什麽变化。贝司手 Murdoc, 主唱 2-D, 鼓手 Russell Hobbs 和吉他手 Noodle 都是乐团的重要成员。

但继去年的一个歌迷比赛后，Gorillaz 的画家 Jamie Hewlett 准备在乐团里加入一个新成员 － The Evangelist。 这个成员的由来是歌迷们先画出他们认为新成员是什麽模样。Jamie Hewlett 在从众歌迷的图样中选出了这个：

再经过 Jamie 的改良，就变成了这样：

这个成员 The Evangelist 是曾经出现在乐团 Plastic Beach MV 里的卡通 Boogieman 的相反 (大家可以在以下图中看到 Boogieman 的长相）。

Jamie 说 “The Evangelist was the light to his awful shade … [it] is a similar entity, but the flip-side of the Boogieman. He/she may even be revealed as the Boogieman’s avenger.“ 大概的是虽然的 Evangelist 和 Boogieman 是类似的东西，但他们其实性格相反，Boogieman 很黑暗，Evangelist 是光明的。

我们很期待这个新卡通成员出现在以后 Gorillaz 的 MV 里和将要在他身上发生的精彩故事。
