CHARTattack: How goes the touring?
Dan Snaith: Great. In the last month or so we’ve done eastern Europe, Russia and the Balkans. And then we flew to Hong Kong and Shanghai and Beijing and Tokyo and Seoul. We came almost straight here from Korea. It’s been really, really great.
What’s it like performing in China?
We were in China five years ago and I guess we were one of the first indie bands or whatever to go play over there. People at the show just kind of stared at us. Bands take for granted that people clap and then there’s an encore. That whole background was not there.
This time around was different. Everything in China is changing so fast. Three years ago, there were no venues in Beijing, a city of 20 million people. You couldn’t have done a rock show. Now, there’s something like eight. It’s totally changing overnight.
